AVALA VOLI
CHARACTER
CHARACTER
Avala is an adult Iirusiila Risk native to Viirata.
She bears a pale gray-ish brown coat with colorpoint markings on her face, paws & ears. Her eyes are an intense indigo color that is reminiscent of the night sky.
Her given name, meaning spirit or life, is symbolic of the Risk belief that the pale color of her coat is indicative of a connection to the spirit world. While named for suspicion, Avala does have a hant that allows her to act as an arbiter to commune between life and death.
Sacred sites throughout Viirata have been desecrated & ransacked, individuals have gone missing & generations of Risk history has been lost to some unknown culprit's greed. In desperation to protect their legacy, the spirits of the Risk ancestors seek Avala with whom they hope they can commune. They task her with tracking down & putting a stop to whomever is destroying their history.
Avala is a compassionate but subdued individual. She loves her people, culture, homeland and such, but her ability to commune with the dead is taxing to her mortal existence. This has left her with a distaste for her ability, almost viewing it more as a curse than a blessing. She shies away from corpses and graves for the overwhelming presences she senses there. However, when this familiar aversion is absent from her life, she finds herself lost in a void that lacks the guiding hand her ancestors have always been able to offer her.
Avala is considered a conduit to the spirit world due to the color of her pelt as the Risk believe that paler the coat in terms of color, the closer an individual is to being a spirit than a living being. Whether or not this belief is true is indeterminate, however, it was also the reason Avala was given her name, which can be interpreted to mean spirit.
